Meet Gady
Born in the vibrant city of Istanbul, Gady Yesilcay grew up surrounded by the rich culture and history of Turkey. From a young age, life presented its share of challenges; at just 16 years old, Gady faced the loss of his father, a pivotal event that shaped his resilience and determination.
During the summers of Gady's teenage years, he worked in a local rug shop, where he discovered an innate talent and passion for the intricate art of rugs. Immersed in the centuries-old tradition, Gady quickly mastered the trade, impressing mentors and clients alike.
After completing his college education, Gady decided to dedicate his skills to the meticulous work of rug restoration and repair. This niche allowed Gady to travel extensively around the world, gaining new perspectives and refining his expertise in rugs learned across different cultures.
In 2007, Gady had the opportunity to move to the U.S. and eventually opened his own business - Orientalist Home.
Today, Gady continues to work tirelessly, driven by his passion for the industry and a commitment to excellence. He is proud to see his company grow, evolve, and form partnerships with other businesses that share his vision for quality and integrity, focusing on the well-being of his team, the satisfaction of his customers, and the preservation of traditional artistry.
